Speech & Language Therapy Schools Partnership

Supporting Communication Across Your School

We provide specialist Speech & Language Therapy for schools across the UK. Through our hybrid model, we support schools both in person in West Sussex and online for settings across the UK. We work alongside staff, pupils and families to strengthen communication across the whole school community — big and small.

Our partnership with schools goes beyond individual therapy sessions. We are here to listen, think with you and offer support that fits naturally with your school’s values and day-to-day life.

We offer support in areas including:

  • Direct Speech & Language Therapy
  • Small group and paired intervention
  • Staff training and professional development
  • Teaching Assistant supervision
  • SENCO consultation and reflective support
  • Parent workshops and coaching
  • Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC) implementation

Our aim is to work collaboratively with you, building confidence and sustainable communication practice that benefits everyone — pupils, staff and families.

A Whole-School Approach to Speech & Language Support

Communication is at the heart of learning, wellbeing and belonging. Our Speech & Language Therapy Schools Partnership is designed not just to support pupils, but to nurture communication throughout your school.

We work with:

  • Individual pupils
  • Small groups
  • Class teachers and TAs
  • SENCOs and leadership teams
  • Parents and carers

Support can be delivered in school, online, or through a blended approach — whatever works best for your setting and your community.

Direct Speech & Language Therapy (In School & Online)

We provide flexible SLT in school and online, tailored to your pupils and staff. This might include:

  • Individual Speech & Language Therapy
  • Small group language intervention
  • Paired therapy
  • Speech sound support
  • Support for pupils with Developmental Language Disorder (DLD)
  • Social communication support
  • Selective mutism support
  • Parent coaching
  • AAC assessment and review

Online SLT for schools works well for many children and young people, especially when focused on:

  • Speech sound differences
  • Language needs
  • Older primary and secondary pupils
  • Review, planning and reflective practice meetings
  • Supervision and training for staff
  • Parent support sessions

All our work links to curriculum access, classroom goals and — where relevant — EHCP outcomes. We prioritise practical strategies staff can continue between visits and sessions.

Training & Professional Development for Staff

Confident, informed staff make a lasting difference. Our training is grounded in real classroom experience and current evidence, and is designed to be practical, reflective and immediately useful.

Training can be delivered in school or online, including:

  • Whole-school INSET days
  • Online workshops
  • Ongoing CPD programmes

Topics include communication needs, environment adaptations, language-friendly classroom practice and more.

Supporting Communication for Autistic Children in Mainstream School

This training supports staff to:

  • Understand autistic communication differences
  • Reduce classroom communication barriers
  • Adapt adult language and expectations
  • Support regulation and emotional safety
  • Create inclusive communication environments

The focus is always on understanding and inclusion, not on changing the child.

Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC)

We support schools to integrate AAC meaningfully into everyday communication. This may include:

  • Staff training
  • Modelling AAC strategies in class
  • How to obtain and set up AAC systems, including electronic options
  • Reviewing AAC use across the day
  • Problem-solving consultations
  • Online or in-school sessions

Our goal is for AAC to be used consistently, confidently and purposefully throughout the school day.

Teaching Assistant Training & Supervision

Teaching Assistants are often key in supporting communication every day. We offer:

  • Training in speech and language strategies
  • Structured supervision (online or in school)
  • Coaching and modelling
  • Support with intervention planning and reflection

Supervision sessions provide space for questions, reflection and shared problem-solving.

SENCO Consultation & Strategic Support

We work with SENCOs and leadership teams to strengthen communication provision across the school. Support may include:

  • Case discussion
  • Provision mapping guidance
  • Communication audits and reflection
  • Intervention pathway planning
  • Target development and review
  • Reviewing existing provision and next steps

Online consultation means we can offer consistent, accessible support to schools across the UK.

Parent Workshops & Support

We know that communication progress is strongest when home and school are connected. We can offer:

  • Parent workshops (in person or online)
  • Information sessions linked to school priorities
  • Parent coaching and strategy support
  • Practical ways to support communication at home

Working together helps create consistency, understanding and confidence for pupils and families alike.

Our Approach

  • Neurodiversity-affirming
  • Strengths-based
  • Collaborative
  • Practical and embedded in everyday life
  • Focused on meaningful, functional communication outcomes

We recognise that schools are busy, complex environments. Our role is to provide clear, realistic and supportive guidance that fits naturally into the life of your community.

We offer flexible models of support, including:

  • In-school Speech & Language Therapy
  • Online Speech & Language Therapy
  • Blended delivery
