About Us
Who are we?
We are a team of Independent Speech and Language Therapists based at our Therapy Centre on Eastlands Park Estate in Horsham.
Our serene location provides a peaceful and supportive environment for our clients, with beautiful views over fields, nestled on an estate by stables. We proudly serve Crawley, Horsham, and the surrounding areas.
My Journey SLT was founded for children in West Sussex who need support with their Speech, Language, and Communication skills. We cater to a diverse range of support needs, including:
- Autistic children
- Gestalt Language Processors
- Children with Delayed Speech and Language skills
- Developmental Language Disorder (DLD)
- Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
- Selective Mutism
- Speech Sound Disorders
Recognising the challenges and limitations of overstretched NHS services, our mission is to bridge the gap and provide essential support to families. We offer services to those who fund independently, through charities or grants, and collaborate with local authorities to provide Speech and Language Therapy (SLT) as specified in a child's Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP).
Our approach and services
At My Journey SLT, we are committed to a neurodiversity-affirming practice. This means we support each child in developing their communication skills in a way that is meaningful to them, without using any behavioral methods.
Our goal is to foster a supportive and understanding environment where every child can thrive.
We offer a wide range of services to meet the varied needs of our clients, including:
- Comprehensive assessments
- EHCP/EHCNA assessments
- Online shop with Aided Language Boards, making play accessible for every child
- Ongoing therapy sessions
- Nursery and school therapy sessions
- Training for schools and parents on Gestalt Language Processing
- Creating and updating Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC) systems
Our team & community involvement
All of our therapists are highly qualified and experienced professionals who are passionate about supporting children with communication needs and their families. Our team members are:
- Members of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT)
- Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
- Members of the Association of Speech and Language Therapists in Independent Practice (ASLTIP)
We are actively involved in the community, working with local authorities, schools, and other organisations to support children with communication needs. Our commitment to inclusivity and neurodiversity ensures that we provide compassionate and effective support to all our clients.
